You can see our previous video for the Cave Edition on our YouTube channel, but now it’s time to go a little bit further into our take on 2001: A Space Odyssey. Like in the previous video, this one goes into the production details as well, further building on the idea that each edition is inspired by one of the story’s four arcs, resulting in four distinct editions.
The Tycho Edition’s design is meant to reflect on humanity’s exploration of space, starting with our closest neighbour—the Moon. This is most notably present in the “layering” of this edition, starting with the case, then the front cover, and finally the marbled endpapers. As described in the video, the idea was to allude to many different views that astronauts might have of the mysterious crater upon their arrival.
