Book & case arrived in excellent condition.
Amazing product. Keep up the great work @ Amaranthine Books.
Negative point is the high cost.

Dracula Scholomance edition

This book is awesome! Love the wooden case it comes in, the dirt from Transylvania, the texture and color of the binding, the glow in the dark images, the book mark...everything is top quality! I was on the fence about purchasing it but am so glad I did. It's a great collectors piece and I think will be a convesation starter.
Shipping was incredibly fast and all I can say is well done Amaranthine books!

Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde - Incredible Editions of this RLS Classic

Just received both the Jekyll & Hyde editions of the Robert Louis Stevenson classic from Amaranthine Books. Wow. WOW. Incredibly high production values. These are a must have for collectors. With beautiful artwork throughout and a very well conceived and executed overall design for both editions, this is top notch. Can't wait for my copy of Dracula!

A publisher to watch

The pictures of Dracula, and those of Jekyll and Hyde, showed a love of quality books, bringing elements of the story into the craftmanship and design. This enticed me to buy from this relatively new publisher. And I'm glad I did. A fine edition of Dracula, from the wonderful binding to the amazing artwork. The book is very reminiscent of the production values of Charnel House. I'm eager to see what Amaranthine Books will do next. Recommended for anyone that appreciates quality books.

An absolutely stunning edition of this groundbreaking classic. The binding is blood red. The edges of the text block are black. It has an image on the cover that GLOWS in the dark. It even has a page marker that is relevant - it is a stake, of the kind you would employ to rid the world of any vampire in your area. This is such a wonderfully aesthetic and well thought out limited edition. Elegant and highly original.

Dracula - Scholomance Edition

I was bit on the fence initially about the book initially. It is a old story book after all and there has been a few editions I have owned throughout the years from my childhood never though a limited edition I'll admit. In the recent years the only other version I still have is from Folio society which is also somewhat in demand in the market. At any rate, once I saw pictures of it and those short youtube videos, I thought it might a be gorgeous production, a one of a kind book which I personally have not seen the likes of before.
Upon receiving the book, the coolest thing I saw was the Transylvanian soil compartment with dirt from Bran Castle. Even though Vlad III Dracula is said to have never set foot there, I think it is still significant historically and having that in the book makes me actually want to visit someday. The glow in the dark artwork in the book are outstanding. I have to say once i actually saw them in the dark, it was sheer scary. It is brilliant. I have honestly never seen that in a book and I really loved it. I keep looking at them in the dark after light exposure and I think anybody who owns the book will be quite happy with the effect.
I'll be honest about the last part, which i think was done to make the book stand out but I was also slightly grossed, having the title being written in human blood and all that. That to me was the only least coolest thing about the book. To some it might be of significance since it's vampire story after all, but I wasn't just into it.
Overall, this might be a little pricey to some but every other publisher makes limited editions of stephen king and newer authors, sometimes even out of their terrible stories, but this is an actual classic, Dracula has held the minds and imaginations of people for almost 150 years now with so many stories inspired from that, so this definitely it is worthy of getting a treatment of this magnitude and for owning it in my mind is totally justified.

Hyde Edition

I love this special edition of this wonderful story! It’s one of my all time favorite books, and to see it become a piece art on every page is amazing. I love the design and the little Easter eggs. Especially the tone it sets with the white print on black paper. It makes re-reading this story better every time.

Exceeds all expectations

Beautiful design, stunning illustrations and overall high quality of the book itself. A true collection piece that I would recommend to any book enthusiast.

They say "don't judge a book by it's cover", but in this case, you might as well. The book cover is just the first of many gorgeous details this Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde edition has. It is not only beautiful, it has an incredibly clever and well thought out concept that brings this edition to another level. You won't regret including this beauty on your book shelf!

A Gorgeous Production & Great Customer Service Experience!

My Thoughts On The Book: I'm the proud new owner of a copy of Amaranthine Books’ Scholomance edition of Dracula, and it’s a beauty! If you’ve seen pictures of it, you know that it’s a gorgeous production. However, this is more than simply another well-made edition of Dracula. What separates it from other versions are all the little story-relevant “surprises” embedded within it; be it the glow in the dark ink used on the cover and in the interior illustrations, the Transylvanian soil compartment, the title of the book being written in real human blood, etc. Combine that with its aesthetically pleasing nature, and this book is both unique and well worth every penny.

My Thoughts On Amaranthine Books’ Customer Service: As soon as I came across pictures and descriptions of this production, my interest was piqued; but I was on the fence about purchasing a copy because I was concerned about the company being located outside of the the U.S., and about their ability to properly pack the book for shipment. So I contacted Amaranthine Books (on a Saturday), and the founder and creative director, Marko Matijasevic, got back to me almost immediately that day. What ensued was what I can only describe as the best customer service experience I’ve ever had, bar none. (This is not an exaggeration.) Marko and I spent a couple of hours emailing back and forth, the end result of which was that he readily agreed to ship my copy per my packing requests, at no extra cost to me. He also informed me that Amaranthine Books fully insure their books with DHL, on the off-chance that something should go awry during shipment. So, I bought a copy that day, and felt completely comfortable making my purchase. My copy arrived safely here, in the United States, a few days later, and I’m extremely pleased with it!

Disclaimer: I’m not associated with Amaranthine Books in any way, manner or form. I purchased my copy at full price. I decided to do this review simply because I’m thrille...

Couldn’t resist

I bought the Hyde edition of this book and was blown away by the quality so purchased the Jekyll edition too. Both look fantastic in my bookcase.

The contrast between the two (one with black pages and one with white pages is a stroke of genius.

jackyll & hyde

amazing book and amazing guys. i love this book so much, every single detail is amazing and astonishing. it is a quite jurney to read them. keep up the great work guys i will buy them all :)

It was love on first sight

The moment I saw this book I knew I had to have it. Everything in it showcases love and hard work that must have been put into making it, from illustrations, which cleverly show two sides of a story, to quality of book itself, which clearly show the people in Amaranthine spared no expense on the production. And to top it of all there are some great easter eggs that took me a few readings to notice (hint: just take a look inside the slipcase and at the endpapers).

All in all, an amazing edition to add to my collection.

"Man is not truly one, but truly two."

As my review title says. Amaranthine books gave us an opportunity to choose, or simply pick both options. I myself personally went for the Hyde edition. Love the dark pages, the texture of the material and the whole visualisation of their version of Stevensons novel. When I heard about this unique edition I had to have my own personal copy. You get an opportunity to collect books that have that much attention, detail and even mystery, you develop a certain want for more. When the word got out that Amaranthine books we're working on yet another project, I got really exited. I knew they had a lot of „mad“ ideas that should get a place in writing and in physical form. As a sculptor, I see all the needed aspects; concept, the visual execution, the feeling it gives us, and inbodying it into a unique work of art. All the qualities art should have, to get a higher level of artistic value.

In summary, looking forward to new projects, more titles that should get it's signature take from Amaranthine books.
Keep up the awesome work!

When I saw the announcement of Dracula in Amaranthine's newsletter, I knew I had to have it! I can only think of one other fine press that is this ingenious when it comes to incorporating elements of the book into the design. From the bloody calligraphy to the dirt inside the wooden box and the little illustrations at the top of each section, it seems Marko and his crew thought of everything.

If all you care about is the story of Dracula itself, there are plenty of other ways to get your hands on that. The fact that you're here - looking at the product description and the images and reading user reviews - means that you are probably a lover of finely made, unique books. If that is true, I would wholeheartedly recommend this edition (or the Transylvania Edition, which is also lovely).

They managed to put the book in my hands less than forty hours after I ordered it, which is impressive to say the least. Since then, I've had a lot of contact with Marko and he is very quick to respond to questions and suggestions. My first experience with Amaranthine Books has been utterly positive and I cannot wait to see what they'll do next. If this is the standard they're going for, the future is bright ahead!

An absolutely gorgeous book, in particular with the thematic presentation of the book in line with the duality of the story. Combined with the illustrations and many other small details, it is an almost ethereal experience to handle and read the book. Definitely one of the more unique books I've had the privilege of owning.

Kudos to the team for having the vision and tenacity to execute this piece of work!

Beautifully crafted book

Attention to detail is seen on so many levels in this book from amazing illustrations, design & typography, choice of paper to little hidden details. This books is beautifully crafted and is a must have item on any book lovers shelf.

This one was a punt

I hadn’t heard of Amaranthine Books till a friend tipped me off about their limited edition Dracula (which I bought) and when I visited their website I also found Jekyll and Hyde. I am a big horror fan and this book was very reasonably priced so I thought I would take a punt. I bought the Hyde edition (black). The quality is great and considering this was the company’s first release they should be applauded. The scratch marks on the cover are a nice touch although in my opinion it may have added to the effect if they could have been accented a little bit. The interior art suits the book well and the fact that the pages are black with white print all adds to the uniqueness of this book

Overall I think this is a great collectible from a fine book publisher.
