Dorian’s Shimmer(ing Ink)

The lettered edition of our recently published The Picture of Dorian Gray, known as The Portrait Edition, boasts a title written by hand in shimmering ink. The video below shows how it was done, as well as the signing process for both this and the numbered edition called The Peacock Edition.

The shimmering ink acted somewhat odd on Savile Row paper, which forced us to have a second go at it where we had to use the dipping calligraphy pen. This finally resulted in a proper shimmer, which is best seen under strong light.

The video is segmented into two days, showing even a timelapse of writing the title and then the drying of the shimmering ink.

P.S.
Despite colour residue on our hands, no paper was harmed during the process!
