Concept and Art

Jekyll Edition of the famous novella The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is inspired by the kind character of Dr. Jekyll. Pure, clean, strapped in white covers with silver page edges, it represents the essence of a good man.

Once you get the book out of the handmade slipcase, we recommend you search for the first of the three easter eggs. Upon opening the book you’ll be met with beautiful UV coating on endpapers which hide the second easter egg (if you are unable to figure out what it is, you might find a clue in the Afterword at the end of the book).

If you look to the side of the book, you’ll be met with silver page edges. Upon reading you’ll notice that every chapter begins with a small chapter illustration that serves as a symbol of that chapter’s theme. Furthermore, throughout the book there are grand total of 12 illustrations by Nebojša Cvetković spanning over six important events of the book. Inspired by the main character(s), each illustration is double-sided, giving two opposite perspectives of the same event. Finally, one of the illustration hides the last easter egg – the painting of the writer of this wonderful book, Robert Louis Stevenson.

Production

Only the finest quality materials and superior production techniques have been chosen in production of this book. Also, many elements, such as the box, had to be handcrafted to guarantee top quality production. To ensure the best reading experience we used beautiful and versatile Brioni typeface.

It is important to note that since the book covers are made of Skin paper they develop a sort of patina over time that gives it character, similar to how leather behaves with time and use. This edition is coated with protection layer which means you can use a damp cloth to clean the covers and the box without fear of damaging the book.

Shipping

Since we put a lot of effort into creation of our books, we like to see them delivered safe and sound (and fast!) straight into your hands. That is why we ship with DHL Express, which means the books will be trackable at all times and they’ll arrive straight into your hands (unless you state otherwise). This also means they should arrive within 3-5 business days at the latest, but they’ll usually arrive within two business days, depending at what time of the day you made your order.

Please be aware that although books are not subject to customs fee in many countries, they might be in yours. This may mean they’ll be held at customs for inspection, delaying the delivery time, and you may be charged a customs fee or import tax or similar. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do about customs clearance – customs rules of each country make the importer (the buyer – you!) responsible for these fees.

Am I worthy?

It’s just quality on every level - in design as well as execution. Something uniquely beautiful.
Service great too - from Europe to Aus in five business days at standard rates. Crikey.

Couldn’t resist

I bought the Hyde edition of this book and was blown away by the quality so purchased the Jekyll edition too. Both look fantastic in my bookcase.

The contrast between the two (one with black pages and one with white pages is a stroke of genius.

It was love on first sight

The moment I saw this book I knew I had to have it. Everything in it showcases love and hard work that must have been put into making it, from illustrations, which cleverly show two sides of a story, to quality of book itself, which clearly show the people in Amaranthine spared no expense on the production. And to top it of all there are some great easter eggs that took me a few readings to notice (hint: just take a look inside the slipcase and at the endpapers).

All in all, an amazing edition to add to my collection.
